The Wrath And The Dawn #1

The Wrath and the Dawn

by
The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1)
One Life to One Dawn.

In a land ruled by a murderous boy-king, each dawn brings heartache to a new family. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, is a monster. Each night he takes a new bride only to have a silk cord wrapped around her throat come morning. When sixteen-year-old Shahrzad's dearest friend falls victim to Khalid, Shahrzad vows vengeance and volunteers to be his next bride. Shahrzad is determined not only to stay alive, but to end the caliph's reign of terror once and for all.

Night after night, Shahrzad beguiles Khalid, weaving stories that enchant, ensuring her survival, though she knows each dawn could be her last. But something she never expected begins to happen: Khalid is nothing like what she'd imagined him to be. This monster is a boy with a tormented heart. Incredibly, Shahrzad finds herself falling in love. How is this possible? It's an unforgivable betrayal. Still, Shahrzad has come to understand all is not as it seems in this palace of marble and stone. She resolves to uncover whatever secrets lurk and, despite her love, be ready to take Khalid's life as retribution for the many lives he's stolen. Can their love survive this world of stories and secrets?

Okay people its time for the truth.Renee is a magical unicorn she got me out of my book hangover again and omg she is so perfect just so so perfect her writing her characters ughh I'm half in love with this author and as you can tell she is one of my the most favourite authors omg this was so bloody brilliant.

Okay lets go the important part the plot it was executed so brilliantly and so just greatly like there were cases of magic here and there and there was a whole rebellion and then there was Shahrzad trying desperately to kill Khalid but couldn't because feelings folks!and the stories omg the stories granted there weren't a lot of them but still there was and i love hearing stories because i may be 15 but my brain still is of a 5 year old.Literally.also granted that your brain is like 90% developed till 5 years but that's not point(yes you can store it in your brain as"stupid facts taught by Akansha" I know I'm very educational you're welcome) and just the relationship between the characters was just so brilliant like not ship but friendship was such a Strong point. And also the food can we just talk about it? granted I'm a vegetarian but still i need to appreciate a good representation in books i mean they play real important part keeping others alive and stuff but the fooood was so great that I had to put the book down and say wow.

Now,its time for the best part the little precious characters I'm in loooooove with them like so much its hard to breathe.

1)Shahrzad:-She was so sassy i love her and so clever and witty therefore you can see that I'm in love with her she's just so great plus she lashes so brilliantly and truth be told i was smirking half of the book that"girls rule the world" smirk which happens quite a lot in my readings along with crying and screeching incoherent sentences because lets be real!

2)Khalid:-so he is the evil boy/monster who kills his brides at dawn and needless to say he's a total piece of adorbs like you know people are misunderstood in books especially people like Khalid who are so observant and they don't speak much but when they do its like bam and yeah i know you're thinking "someone has a crush" but No.I.Don't

*Shahrzad and Khalid i feel like screaming ship ship at the top of my lungs becuase they are so perfect together just so so perfect just so perfect i love them

3)Jalal:-He's Khalid's cousin and his captain of guard and he's so full of it he's like so sassy and brilliant in his own right plus he and Khalid have such a nice relationshipJalal's like"Let's be BFF's!" and to that Khalid's all like "get out of here I'm trying to maintain my reputation of being a meaniebobeanie"
#love them

4)Despina:-she's the best snowflake in all of the book she is just so sassy and just whips back and forth with Shahrzad and just when she entered I was like Shahrzad and Despina=BFF's don't even ask me i love her so much.

5)Tariq:-so he's the biigest sore spot in this book he's all hell bent to get Shazi out of the palace and he doesn't even listens to her not one time and he's started this whole freakin'  rebellion and honestly I'm so sick of love triangles but at least Shazi's not like other girls in love triangles she's like i do love tariq but not like before so its time to move on and I'm like damn straight girl!

And...Shazi's dad no offence but he's like downright crazy didn't anyone teach him not to open a book with a lock someone put it up there for purpose!and specifically if it burns your hands you like put it down and run all the way to Hawaii and have a beach holiday because that book contains all sorts of evil magic and sorcery which you definitely don't want to be a part of you see people should give ME magical objects since I'm so responsible and no i wouldn't create an animal who eats people who want to talk to me don't be absurd!

So to sum it all up what i loved Sassy badass heroines, misunderstood evil boys, food, magic carpets, killing people, sasss and more food.

All in all this book was amazing with a great plot great characters great food(honestly i could eat  read a whole book about a burger talking to a pizza.just sayin')and a lot of Persian culture which i totally loved by the way so in other words go pick this up!

BOOK QUOTES:-

“What are you doing to me, you plague of a girl?” he whispered.“If I’m a plague, then you should keep your distance, unless you plan on being destroyed.” The weapons still in her grasp, she shoved against his chest.“No.” His hands dropped to her waist. “Destroy me.”

“My soul sees its equal in you.”

“Some things exist in our lives for but a brief moment. And we must let them go on to light another sky.”
I love you, a thousand times over. And I will never apologize for it.

“We women are a sad lot, aren't we?""What do you mean?""Strong enough to take on the world with our bare hands, yet we permit ridiculous boys to make fools of us.""I am not a fool.""No, you're not. Not yet.”

“So you would have me throw Shazi to the wolves?”“Shazi?” Jalal’s grin widened. “Honestly, I pity the wolves.”

“Get up, Shahrzad al-Khayzuran. You kneel before no one. Least of all me.”

MY RATING:-🌟🌟
