The Raven Boys
by Maggie Stiefvater
“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”
It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.
Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.
His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.
But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.
For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.
From Maggie Stiefvater, the bestselling and acclaimed author of the Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we’ve never been before.

MY RATING:- 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
whyyyyy why do i have to put all the great books off like seriously i saw this book everywhere every-freakin' where and i just wouldn't pick it up i hate myself truly i hate myself but now that I've read it let me tell you why this is the best treat you could ever get in a book.
first up the storyline was amazing it truly was the world was so realistic and then not like there was magic but at the same time its not magic? because the world seems so freakin' real?like what trees speak Latin?never mind that happens like all the time like i talk to trees(no,i don't) but truly speaking this book had magic but the story seems so into the real world that for the whole time you would think that this could happen in real world.
but the storyline was kind of a background because these characters!!!!!! these characters were so flawed, beautiful and adorable that you couldn't help but love them Maggie's writing is such a treat like you get such an insight on the characters that you feel like you know them personally.
so our first character gansey oh my god! gansey was such a nice pov to read from his interest towards history, his passion to find glendower connected with me so much like i want to find aliens(and yes aliens are real if you want proof i could write a 1000 words essay to prove that to you) and he like cares so much for his friend he helps them in all kinds of situation and is basically like a mother hen who can't let his children out of his sight and just...i love him also he likes chew mint leaves which is like super adorable for me(yeah,i have a problem)
coming to blue i just love her with all her eccentric personality and sensibility i love her not to mention she is like incredibly sassy and honestly give me a sassy character and i am sold just take my money and give me the goddam book also she eats like a lot of yogurt which is like so me since i always eat yogurt or cookies or chocolates but you know what I'm talking about!
and now ronan i just don't know why i love him so much like he is dark, broody, stabby and he swears a lot and he never does school work which i can sympathise with because who does school work? but despite all that he is my bae and no one i tell you no one can touch him without my permission and not to mention he is a very caring person like he cares for a raven man!what else do you want?
coming to Adam i have a kind of bitter sweet relationship with him like he has a lot on his plate what all with his abusive father and all and yeah i get it baby i get it you want to be your own man you don't want someone Else's charity but that does not mean that you have to treat gansey the way you do like he just wants to help Adam and that's what friends do right? i ..i just don't get it.
apart from these characters there was a whole bunch of other characters and let me tell you.you cannot help but love all of them like blues home full of phsycic you bet you're going to love all of them my favourite in them was calla because she was so mean and horrible(yes,i definitely have a problem).
all in all this was a great book with a character driven story and a very cool premise highly recommend it!
