Strange the Dreamer
by Laini Taylor
The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around—and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever.
What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?
The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries—including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo’s dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? And if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?
Welcome to Weep.

MY RATING:-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
okay what to say of this it took me a long time to read this book but was it worth it! this is laini taylor like i read daughter of smoke and bones and i didn't adore it but this book was it good.i think at that time i didn't understand the writing but the writing omg writing was so good it was so poetic and just so great like just i love this book also the plot was so great like we all have a dreamer inside us we all dream about something about being something and that's what this book shows and it shows it just so perfectly like you can relate to the main character so well.
talking of characters our main character is lazlo strange and yeah his last name is"strange" but he is such a sweetie like he was an war orphan first raised by monks and he loves stories he loves hearing about this city which has almost everything and then just one day the name of the city vanishes and its place people can only remember"weep"and lazlo becomes more or less obsessed with this city and he searches about it in the library he works and he has done a hell of research upon it but the point is i love lazlo the moment i read about him my maternal instinct was triggered like man it at least takes 10 chapters but not in this book and that made me love it even more like lazlo runs through walls reading his nose broke because of a book and that's like one of my most biggest fears like man i love me nose!but you get the point right?right?!and he is a dreamer he dreams about finding the "unseen city"and that clicks with me so much like i don't know man but he is my boy and i love him and...you get the point right?right?!
okay coming to thyron nero he is not a main character but i hate him so much just so much that i had to write about him he is like the worst i hate him with such a burning passion like i get it he had or has his problems but the way he treated lazlo was so bad and he was so mean and i wanted to punch him so badly but all i did was scream at the book and throw it down on the bed then scream some more and then read it(yep that's my life)its just he never even said thank you and i hate him
i hate you thyron !

but the writing was so good the world building was so epic like every page kept you hooked up and you wanted to read on and on and on and honestly you will find yourself combing back through pages but that's what high fantasy is so..yeah!
all in all this was a great book with epic writing epic world building epic characters and if you are a fantasy lover you'll love it!

SPOILERY PART OF THE REVIEW!!
[coming to sarai she is one of the pov's but she doesn't comes until the tenth or so chapter so i consider her a spoiler so she has been a captive for 17 years of life like people of "weep"killed her parents but she knows like both side of the war because of her gift and that's what makes her more considerate because she knows what humans went through and she is just great guys and i love her and i love her with lazlo and yeah the ending ripped me in case you were wondering}
