Okay people let me have a moment to collect my thoughts because this book let me tell you it was FREAKIN' AMAZING.
It had all the things i loved that is stabbiness,betrayals,blood,assassins(i love me some assassins)honestly this book was the best thing that ever happened to me trust me! so let me have a moment for myself while i scream internally at the beauty of this book.
The world people trust me it was a real epic fantasy book the prologue hooks you up with people killing each other and all the stuff(if you don't know by now let me tell you i have a problem.)the world was so mysterious and dark and so many things happened in this book at so many instances which at last came into play and clicked into your mind which personally made me admire this author.also there were like a tons of new races which you had to wrap your mind around and once you come into grips with this boy oh boy does it turns into a full on treat people.
Okay coming to our characters i can't say much about characters but here's how it is the story revolves around 3 main character who are siblings or shall i say royal siblings and all our fending for their lives because they are trying to be killed(in case you didn't guess it) the first one I'm going to talk about is valyn he is our assassin people and the things he had to do in his training those shattered my dreams of going into an assassin's guild and be an assassin myself(sure they are real don't be crazy)although I'm pretty sure I'll make a pretty badass assassin (not really I'm pretty sure I'll throw up if i saw a dead body but hey! at least i could read about it and see it in movies)so where were we yeah we were discussing strawberry cake!no?oh yeah valyn so our dear valyn is not the heir to the throne but he is pretty badass and he wears black which makes him more badass in my opinion but man he went through so much and his storyline was like the best of all three because here there was stabbiness blood gore and generally the things that i love and he also slowly was turning to the dark side which made me think that maybe i should kidnap him and bring him here and feed him pancakes but that woulda meant that i had to sacrifice stabbiness and blood so yeah i didn't.
coming to our next brother kaden he is the heir to the throne and he is sent to these mysterious shin monks whom he has no idea why he is training with until midway and no folks there is not much blood and gore emphasis on much because there was blood and gore in here but his storyline was the one with the mysterious storyline so yeah i was okay with that also he had this really badass monk mentor whom i calltan the man because 1)it rhymes2)I'm lame.also by the end there was this super badass woman who was just so great and sassy that i loved it.
coming to our next character adare she is the oldest of the three and still she is not the heir because she is a girl which i get because the world seems to be an older version and girls don't get much there but that doesn't makes it okay!she is the only one who lives in the palace and is surrounded by all the political intrigue and she had a total of like two chapters which I'm super okay with because there was no blood and stabbiness and killing each other for sake of surviving so yeah but on the bright side she was like super smart and capable so i loved her(duh!)
the world building was epic like by the end you would feel like you know everything but you don't because it has a mysterious plot line.
the plot was amazing the characters were amazing and everything was amazing.so lets finish this up.
all in all this was a great read with an epic world which would leave you craving for more of this world amazing characters full of badass moments and an epic plot with lots of stabbiness,blood,gore betrayals assassins and..I'm pretty sure you are sold by now.
also can i just say that they had really big birds on which they flew and that was like really cool because who doesn't wants a ride on a big bird(duh!)
P.S. eat a cake every time i said blood in this review you're going eat a lot of cakes😉
