Certain Dark Things
Welcome to Mexico City… An Oasis In A Sea Of Vampires…

Domingo, a lonely garbage-collecting street kid, is busy eking out a living when a jaded vampire on the run swoops into his life.

Atl, the descendant of Aztec blood drinkers, must feast on the young to survive and Domingo looks especially tasty. Smart, beautiful, and dangerous, Atl needs to escape to South America, far from the rival narco-vampire clan pursuing her. Domingo is smitten.

Her plan doesn’t include developing any real attachment to Domingo. Hell, the only living creature she loves is her trusty Doberman. Little by little, Atl finds herself warming up to the scrappy young man and his effervescent charm.

And then there’s Ana, a cop who suddenly finds herself following a trail of corpses and winds up smack in the middle of vampire gang rivalries.

Vampires, humans, cops, and gangsters collide in the dark streets of Mexico City. Do Atl and Domingo even stand a chance of making it out alive?

MY RATING:-🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well well well i don't know what to say lets just start with a confession shall we folks? before picking this book up i was reading another book and was near the ending but then i swa a post with this book and i was like:
"that sounds real cool maybe i should check it out"
"ooh the summary is something!"
"wait rick riordan gave it 5 stars?"
"wait VICTORIA SCHWAB GAVE IT 5 STARS?"

and so people i restrained myself read the first book and then read this book like a little angelic reader i am
but
that's not what happened!

i forgot the book all together and picked this one up and left the book right there on the bed and that book is still giving me the stink eye and if my posts stop coming after this please call the cops and tell them thati've been murdered by a hurt book.
thanks for your help!

now coming to the book was this book a treat like all those vampiric cliches took a back seat like vampires who can't walk in sunlight take a backseat people because who wants a glittery vamp in dark when you could have a most badass vampire of all time?
likethis was such a great book guys vampires had subspecies and relegions and all the crazy stuff boy oh boy ithe only thing i can say is that this is not a classic vampire tale this is so much bigger and better.
coming to the world the world building was super epic like the book was set in mexico city which was just so shady and let me tell you this book had blood like a hell lot of it and did i love it?(like i said i have a problem)
coming to the characters our first main character is atl our female vampire who is like the definition of badass people trust me on that and we did get a lot of indepth on her character like how she was reckless in her childhood and how she grew up and she is just great.
the second main character is domingo who grew up on the streets of mexico city picking up garbage and just..surviving man the boy went through a lot like a lot but that didn't break him up.and he was just so lively and quirky not to mention he was like a real fanboy what all with his graphic novels and stuff.but most of all i loved atl and doming's relationship domingo would be like:-

"wait you're a vampire?"
"so like do you wear a cape? where is your cape"
"can you turn into mist"
"oh so you have wings so are they bat wings?or bird wings or butterfly wings?although butterfly wings won't suit you so can you show those wings to me?!"

and atl be like
"kill me now or i would kill this boy"
just love them

coming to our villain nick was like the definition of villany without a heart or a soul obsessed with revenge and by the end you guessed it !i was screaming death threats and obscenities at him(although in my head thistime because i've got the impression that my parents would deport me to the carribean so yeah no outward screaming)
the thing i did not like was the ending and let me rant i want a sequel to this book like nobody's buisness

all in all this was a great book a fresh respite from classic vampire tales with much more blood, gore and badassery and in general all the things you'll love reading!

SPOILERY PART OF THE REVIEW!!!!!

[just how could she leave domingo like that the boy had made so many enemies because of her i'm telling you domingo needs to go to brazil maybe he'll have a vision or something? nothing bad in hoping!
also i just want to say thati'm not talking about ana because she has touched a soft spot man with her sacrifice heart is ripped and what her daughter what is she going to do now?but also i'm very proud of her for what she did like humans always prove their worth and every other species could suck it up

BOOK QUOTES:-

“There is a point when a man may swim back to shore, but he was past it. There was nothing left but to be swallowed by the enormity of the sea.”

As usual stay happy and keep reading.😃

Bye for now!😊
