Traitor to the Throne
by Alwyn Hamilton
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ REBEL OF THE SANDS THEN I RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ IT BEFORE READING THE SUMMARY OR MY REVIEW!!!! (
The sizzling, un-put-downable sequel to the bestselling Rebel of the Sands!
Mere months ago, gunslinger Amani al'Hiza fled her dead-end hometown on the back of a mythical horse with the mysterious foreigner Jin, seeking only her own freedom. Now she's fighting to liberate the entire desert nation of Miraji from a bloodthirsty sultan who slew his own father to capture the throne.
When Amani finds herself thrust into the epicenter of the regime—the Sultan's palace—she's determined to bring the tyrant down. Desperate to uncover the Sultan's secrets by spying on his court, she tries to forget that Jin disappeared just as she was getting closest to him, and that she's a prisoner of the enemy. But the longer she remains, the more she questions whether the Sultan is really the villain she's been told he is, and who’s the real traitor to her sun-bleached, magic-filled homeland.
Forget everything you thought you knew about Miraji, about the rebellion, about djinni and Jin and the Blue-Eyed Bandit. In Traitor to the Throne, the only certainty is that everything will change.

it wasn't as good as the first one but the ending made it up and i kind of get it you know like things were setting up everything was leading to a finale and now more than ever i want to read it. so the things i like about this book first up shazad she is just so badass and just so great and i loved her relationship with my beloved amani like they are sister in arms and can do anything for each other not to mention they make a kickass team and just shazad is awesome. then we come to this new character sam i really like him and the way alwyn tells about the past of new characters is just so great its just she writes it like a story and it's just so so cool for me and i love it also i really want shazad and sam to end up together because well i don't know i just want them ok? second up we have Amani like she was great but she was not the same sassy desert girl i came to love but i get it she was locked in a palace and what not but truly speaking my girl would have a retort now and then and it was ok but what was not ok was Jin like he left Amani to die alll by herself and left to spy i mean okhe didn't want to see her dead but you can't leave the person you like to die alone that's not done and honestly jin wasn't jin in this book and what not but the thing that i liked about him is that he never stopped amani from doing what she wanted and that was so great like in most of the books the guys are overprotective and don't leave them to do something reckless but jin isn't like that he lets amani do whatever she wants and rescues her if need be but we don't get to see much of jin and amani together or even of jin alone and i get it things are leading upto finale but that doesn't mean it's ok. and ahmed i don't feel like he alone could get the whole empire because the sultan is like so clever and he is like two steps ahead of his enemy and he is a king who does everything to protect his country from foreigners even though he himself is killing his people. i do think that the finale would be good because its finale has so much potential and a lot of crazy things went down in this book and i really hope that the finale would live to its potential. with that being said i really want the finale because the ending was a major cliffhangar and i really want to see in which direction this series would go Book quotes:- “I had a few things to say about being dragged to a so-called Free City tied up like a goat on a spit, but even I knew I was better off not running my mouth just now.” “But there, standing at the entrance to the garden, wearing a khalat the colour of a breaking dawn and that faint smile that meant she knew she was outsmarting someone, was Shazad.” "And this time, the Sultan had given us an advantage – the only thing that was truly invincible. Not an immortal creature. But an idea. A legend. A story. The Blue-Eyed Bandit was always more powerful than I was. The Rebel Prince was always more powerful than Ahmed. And now, we could write a better story than the prodigal prince. One no one would ever forget. One the entirety of Miraji would stand behind. The prince who returned from the dead to take his throne and save his people. "
